![]() With technology today, we are able to bring you our family tree online. We want you to participate in updating and adding to our family tree to see how we are all connected. It starts with Joseph Rome and expands from there. Currently, our tree contains 596 family members. I am sure that we have grown since our last reunion and we need your input. We had our first planning meeting on July 18th and have a number of ideas. Our first order of business is to secure a location. On the table is Chevron Park where we had our last reunion, Welcome Park in St. James, LA and Bayou Segnette State Park in New Orleans. We are researching availability, feasibility and cost and will report out at the next meeting. The date for the reunion will be on Memorial Day weekend in 2010, most likely the Saturday and Sunday of that weekend. Since our last reunion, we have had a few events where each family brought a dish and we find that has worked out well. We are discussing the possibility of doing the same for the reunion in 2010 and also giving others the option of paying money. This may be less taxing for families and so far, we have never run out of food. This time, we will have one T-shirt design for the reunion. We found that we tended to separate ourselves when we had different colors for families and we want all to intermingle more. If you have other ideas or wish to comment on the above, please join us at our next meeting or click on the Comments link and leave your thoughts. This is YOUR family reunion and we want it to be an enjoyable experience! First Post! 05/24/2009
Back in business! I have heard that many of you check this site occasionally and with much disappointment, find that nothing has changed. Glad to know that you are thinking about our family. As we revive this site, please share your thoughts. Not everyone can join us for the planning meetings, but you can certainly come to this website and give us your input. We want everyone to enjoy themselves at our next family reunion. We recently had a family picnic on Memorial Day Weekend in Vacherie and it was great to see a number of you. Hopefully we will see more in 2010! Thanks Debra Legaux (formerly Debra Jeffrey) for offering up your home. The day could not have been more perfect! |
